You can delete your NeetFlash account at any time. You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us by email if you no longer have the app. This page explains how, what is deleted, and the few records we keep.
Delete it in the app
- Open Settings. Students: tap the gear at the top of Home. Parents: tap the gear at the top of My Children. On the website: open your account menu, then Settings.
- Open Account and tap Delete My Account.
- If you pay for a subscription through the App Store or Google Play, the app asks you to cancel it first. Deleting your account does not cancel it.
- Read the list of what will be deleted, type DELETE, and tap Delete Account.
- If you last signed in more than 10 minutes ago, we send you a new sign-in code, the same way as when you sign in, to confirm it is you. Enter it and the deletion goes ahead.
Your account is deleted straight away, not after a waiting period, and the app tells you "Your account has been deleted." This cannot be undone.
Ask us without the app
You do not need to install the app. Email privacy@neetflash.com with the subject "Delete my account".
- Send it from the email address on your account, or tell us the mobile number you sign in with, so we can find the account.
- We may ask you to confirm the account is yours before we delete anything.
- We delete the account within 30 days of your request.
Before you delete
- App Store and Google Play subscriptions - Deleting your account does not cancel them, and the store will keep charging you. Cancel first: on iPhone, Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, the Play Store, then your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Subscriptions paid on our website - We stop them for you before the account is deleted, so they do not renew. There is no refund for time left. If a parent paid for a child, the child keeps Premium until the end of the period that was paid for.
- Parents - Your children's accounts are not deleted. They are unlinked from yours, and their study progress stays with them.
- School administrators - If your school's paid NeetFlash plan is still running, your account cannot be deleted until the school's administrator role has moved to someone else at the school. Ask us through Get help in the app, or at support@neetflash.com, and we will arrange it.
What is deleted
Everything tied to your account, at the moment you delete it:
- Your profile, display name, phone number, email and sign-in details
- Flashcard progress, your revision schedule and every answer you gave
- Streaks, XP, achievements, leagues and study time
- Mock test and chapter test results, and Exam Jam scores
- Usage statistics, search counts and your credit ledger
- The app's records of your card reports, help requests and data requests (the copies in our support mailbox are covered below)
- Your devices, referrals, and links to a parent or to children
What we keep, and for how long
A small number of records are kept after your account is deleted. Some carry your account number, which is a random code our system gave your account; after deletion it no longer leads to any account.
- Payment records - If you paid us on our website, the record of each payment (the amount, the plan, the date, and the payment provider's reference numbers) is kept under your account number, with no name, phone number or email, for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
- Subscription records - For a subscription bought on our website or in the App Store, the record of the subscription itself (its plan, price, status and dates, and the store's or payment provider's reference number), with the link to your account removed, so that a late renewal can never be credited to someone else. No set period.
- Free-trial record - A one-way, keyed fingerprint of each phone number, and of the Android device identifier of each phone, that has had a free trial, so the trial is not claimed twice. Not linked to your account. No set period. On an iPhone, Apple keeps the mark that the phone has had a trial.
- A parent's consent - If you are a parent who approved a child's account, the child's account keeps your name, the relationship you stated and when you approved, so the consent can still be shown. It is deleted with the child's account.
- School records - If you were a school's administrator: your name and email on the school's acceptance of the School Agreement, any change to the school's contact name and phone number you asked for, the school's contact name and phone number if they are yours, and any invitation to your email you did not accept. If your school reserved your seat with your mobile number and email, those stay on the school's record of that seat. Kept for as long as the school's account is kept. No set period.
- Messages to our support team - Help requests, data requests, card reports and emails you sent us, and our replies, stay in our support mailbox with the contact details they carry. Our tracking tickets hold your account number and technical details, never your name, phone number or email. No set period.
- Security alerts - If our systems flagged unusual use of your account, the alert (your account number and the figures that caused it) and the email that told our team, which names you. No set period. Alerts on our internal alert page are deleted 90 days after they are dealt with.
- Records with no link to you - Such as the cost of AI processing, whether a school join code or a discount code was used, and a school's log of password resets. They no longer say anything about you.
Copies in our database backups are removed as the backups are replaced, within 7 days. Data already handled by other companies follows their own retention rules: an email Resend has already delivered, the purchase records Apple, Google, RevenueCat and Razorpay keep, short-lived service logs at our hosting provider, and the free-trial mark Apple keeps for an iPhone.
