1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using NeetFlash, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
NeetFlash is a flashcard-based study app for NEET (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) exam preparation. It sits alongside your coaching and self-study as a short, daily session that locks in what you have already learned. The app provides:
- Spaced-repetition reviews (FSRS-5 algorithm) - cards are scheduled to surface just before you would otherwise forget them, so earlier chapters stay sharp closer to exam day.
- Real-NEET flashcards - authored to mirror how the NEET exam actually asks questions, with distractors modelled on the traps students fall for.
- Weak Spot analysis - cross-references your retention with the NEET frequency map and highlights the topics that move your rank.
- Chapter Study - work through any chapter end-to-end at your own pace, with mastery tracking card by card.
- Mock Tests - full-length NEET simulations (180 questions, 3 hours, NEET scoring rules).
- Error Bank - every wrong answer is auto-saved for focused revision.
- Explanations - every flashcard ships with a worked explanation of why the answer is correct.
- AI Tutor - on-demand concept explanations, restricted to NEET subjects.
- AI Coach - personalised guidance on what to study next based on your performance.
- Semantic search - search across the NeetFlash question bank in plain language.
- Exam Jam - live multiplayer quiz rooms with an optional spectator mode. Your display name (snapshot taken at join) and live scores are visible to other participants in the same room while the session is active.
- Parent Dashboard - a PIN-protected, read-only view of your study activity that a parent can monitor (optional).
3. Eligibility and Age Requirements
- NeetFlash is intended for students aged 16 and above who are preparing for the NEET examination.
- Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, users under the age of 18 are classified as children. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must consent to your use of this app and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
- We obtain that consent in one of two ways, described in detail in Section 11 ("Parental Consent Process"): (a) you give us your parent's mobile number when you sign up, and your parent approves you from inside the NeetFlash app after signing in with that number, and (b) parents can also create a Parent Portal account first and share an invite code with you.
- We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If we learn that a child under 13 has registered without parental consent, we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
4. User Accounts
- You must provide a valid phone number or Google account to create an account
- You must set a display name when you set up your account. It must not be offensive or impersonate another person (see Section 9), and you can change it anytime in Settings
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must not share your account credentials with others
- One account per person. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
5. Free, Paid, and AI Credits
The exact free-tier limits, AI-credit allowances, and premium pricing shown in the app at the time of your purchase are authoritative; the figures below summarise the current position for reference. We may adjust these from time to time - any change is reflected in the app before you subscribe or buy.
Free Tier (current limits)
- 5 flashcard reviews per day
- 1 full-length mock test every 90 days
- 1 chapter test per subject per day (5 questions per test)
- 1 chapter per subject per day in Chapter Study
- Weak Spot analysis, FSRS-5 spaced repetition, progress tracking, the Error Bank, and the Parent Dashboard
- Exam Jam participation, with a daily limit on rooms you can create
Premium (Paid)
- All non-AI features unrestricted, with no daily limits
- A monthly allowance of AI credits for the app's AI features (see "AI Credits" below)
- Payments are processed securely by the app store you buy through — the Apple App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. NeetFlash never sees or stores your card, bank, or UPI details.
- Current Monthly and Yearly prices are shown in the app before you purchase. Monthly and Yearly are auto-renewing subscriptions. The 2-year plan is a single one-time payment that does not auto-renew. The streak-freeze pack and any AI credit packs are one-time consumables.
AI Credits
The app's AI features run on AI credits rather than a fixed daily count, because each use carries a real underlying processing cost. Where enabled, this currently covers the AI Coach, the AI Tutor, and semantic search.
- Two kinds of credit. Subscription credits are included with a Premium subscription and refresh at the start of each billing cycle; they are use-it-or-lose-it and do not carry over to the next cycle. Purchased credits - from credit packs and any one-time onboarding grant - never expire.
- How credits are spent. Each AI feature costs a set number of credits per use, shown in the app. A use draws down your subscription credits first, then your purchased credits.
- Credit packs. When you run out, you can buy a one-time credit pack through the app store. The available packs, their credit amounts, and their prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and are authoritative.
- Running out. If your balance is too low for a given AI feature, that feature is paused until your next subscription refresh or until you buy a credit pack. All non-AI features continue to work as normal.
- The exact credit costs per feature, the monthly subscription allowance, any onboarding grant, and pack contents are configured in the app and may change; the values shown in the app at the time you act are authoritative.
6. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal, and Cancellation
- Monthly and Yearly Premium are recurring subscriptions. When you subscribe, the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) sets up the recurring payment on the Apple or Google account you buy with. Your first payment is taken when you subscribe, and Premium is activated only once that payment succeeds.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle - every month for Monthly, every year for Yearly - at the then-current displayed price for that plan, until you cancel.
- The app store sends you a receipt and a reminder before each renewal charge. You can turn off auto-renewal any time before the next charge to stop that and all future charges.
- Renewal charges are handled automatically by the app store using your saved payment method, so you do not need to approve each charge separately.
- You can cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; in the app, Settings → Manage Subscription links you there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - you keep Premium until then, and it is not renewed again. A failed or declined renewal does not remove access you have already paid for; access continues until the end of the period already paid, after which the account returns to Free.
- No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of the current billing cycle upon cancellation, expiry, or a failed renewal.
- Changing plans (upgrade only). You can move to a higher plan (Monthly to Yearly, Monthly to 2-year, or Yearly to 2-year) at any time; downgrades are not supported. When you upgrade, your existing subscription is cancelled at the end of its current cycle, the new plan is charged at its full price, and your Premium access runs to whichever expiry date is later - the time remaining on your old plan is not refunded or credited. Review the in-app confirmation before you upgrade.
7. Refund Policy
- All purchases are final and non-refundable. We do not issue refunds for change of mind, dissatisfaction with content, unused subscription time, partial use of a billing cycle, failure to cancel before an auto-renewal, or time remaining on a previous plan when you upgrade.
- AI credits are non-refundable. Credit packs are one-time consumables: once a pack is purchased, the credits - whether used, unused, or expired - are not refundable or exchangeable for cash. Subscription credits that go unused within a billing cycle are not carried over or refunded.
- If you experience a technical issue preventing access to paid features, contact support@neetflash.com. We will work to resolve the issue by fixing the underlying problem or, at our sole discretion, extending your subscription period. Cash refunds will not be issued.
- The only exceptions to this no-refund policy are:
- Service discontinuation. If NeetFlash permanently discontinues its service, active premium subscribers will receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of their subscription, processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
- Where required by applicable law. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable refund right you may have under Indian consumer protection law or any other law that applies to you.
8. Content and Accuracy
Our commitment. Accuracy is the single most important promise we make to you. A flashcard you trust on practice day has to be correct on exam day - so we have built our content pipeline around that principle, not around volume.
The effort behind each card. Every flashcard goes through a multi-stage pipeline before it is shown to a student:
- Drafting against the official NEET syllabus and NCERT textbooks - never freeform topics.
- Adversarial multi-model audits - each card is reviewed by independent AI models tasked with finding errors rather than confirming the answer. We deliberately use second opinions and "find the mistake" framing because we have found that single-pass review misses subtle conceptual traps.
- Subject-specific trap checklists - Physics, Chemistry and Biology each have their own audit rules covering common error patterns (wrong sign conventions, wrong physical setup, distractors that are actually correct, etc.) so the audit catches discipline-specific mistakes a generic check would miss.
- Setup-first reasoning checks - audits verify the physical or chemical scenario is correctly framed before the math, because the most dangerous errors are correct arithmetic applied to the wrong situation.
- Human spot-checks and user reports feed back into the pipeline. When a card is flagged we re-audit it, and we treat repeated flags as a pipeline signal, not a one-off.
What this does not promise. Despite this effort, no AI-assisted content pipeline can be perfect. Therefore:
- NeetFlash is a supplementary study tool - it does not replace NCERT textbooks, coaching, or official NEET study material. Always cross-reference important concepts with NCERT before relying on them for the exam.
- We are not liable for any incorrect answer, explanation, or distractor. If you spot an error, please report it using the flag button on the card - it is the fastest way to get the card fixed for you and every other student.
- No outcome guarantee. NeetFlash does not guarantee any specific NEET score, rank, college admission, or other exam result. Your outcome depends on your own effort, study habits, and exam-day performance. The app is a preparation aid only - see also Section 15 (Limitation of Liability).
9. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Attempt to manipulate your study statistics, streak counts, or usage limits
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app
- Use automated tools to access the app or its APIs
- Submit false reports on flashcards
- Share your premium access with others (except via Parent Portal premium sharing)
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Use your Exam Jam display name to harass, impersonate, or post offensive content
- Collude with other Exam Jam participants to manipulate scores, rankings, or session outcomes
10. Parent Portal and School Licences
Parent Portal
- Parents can monitor their child's study progress by linking accounts via invite code
- Monitoring is read-only - parents cannot modify study data
- The parent controls the subscription and linking. Students cannot unlink themselves.
- Premium access can be shared from parent to linked children
- When a student turns 18, they may request to unlink from the Parent Portal by contacting us. Upon verification of age, we will process the unlinking and the student will manage their own account independently.
School and Institution Licences
- Your school, coaching institute, or another organisation may provide you with NeetFlash Premium under a school licence. You join either by entering a single-use join code your school gives you, or by signing in with a mobile number your school has registered for your seat - in which case the seat is claimed automatically on first sign-in. You set your own display name either way.
- A join code unlocks Premium for one student and works only once. A code that is not redeemed within its validity window (currently 90 days from when the codes are issued to your school) expires and can no longer be used.
- While you are enrolled under a school licence, your school's administrator can view your study-activity analytics on a read-only basis for the duration of the licence, as described in our Privacy Policy. They cannot see or change your account credentials or your underlying study data.
- Premium provided through a school licence lasts for the licence period that applies to your seat. Depending on how your school's deal is set up, your seat term may run from the date you redeem your code. When the licence or your seat term ends, your account returns to the Free tier unless you hold your own paid plan.
- Schools and institutions are additionally bound by our separate School Agreement, which governs the relationship between your school and NeetFlash. These consumer Terms continue to govern your individual account.
11. Parental Consent Process
If you are under 18, the DPDP Act, 2023 requires us to obtain verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian before we process your personal data. NeetFlash supports two paths to obtain that consent.
Path A - Student-led (the default for new signups)
- Sign up. When you create an account, we ask for your parent's mobile number on the final onboarding step. It is required. We no longer ask you for your parent's email address — we do not need it, so we do not collect it.
- Your parent approves you inside the app. Your parent signs in to NeetFlash with that mobile number. We send a six-digit code to the number by SMS, exactly as we do when you sign in — signing in successfully is what proves the number belongs to them. They then see your name on their home screen and approve you with one tap. That tap is the consent.
- We never link an account automatically. Giving us a mobile number does not link anything. The link is created only when the person holding that number signs in and taps approve. This protects you if you mistype a digit, and it protects a stranger from being handed access to your progress data.
- If your parent does not recognise you. Anyone who signs in and sees a name they do not know can tap "Not my child". That dismisses the request permanently. It does not delete your account and it does not approve or decline consent — your account keeps full access and the consent requirement simply stays open.
- Full access throughout. You have full access to all NeetFlash features while we await your parent's response. There is no restriction on your account for non-response.
- If you entered the wrong number. Contact the support team via the in-app email link; we will correct it after verifying your account. Alternatively, use Path B below.
Push and in-app notifications are a best-effort reminder: they reach you only if the app is installed and you have allowed notifications.
Path B - Parent-led (the invite-code path)
A parent who has already created their own NeetFlash account can generate an invite code from the Parent Portal and share it with you. Entering that code in your account links the two and records the parent's consent. This path exists for families who share a single mobile handset, or where the number you entered does not reach your parent. The parental consent requirement is satisfied immediately when an invite code has been redeemed — your account is consented from the moment of linking.
Withdrawal and lawful basis
Parental consent is the lawful basis under the DPDP Act for our processing of your personal data while you are under 18. Your parent may withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Grievance Officer (Section 20); we will treat the account as read-only and process deletion in line with our Privacy Policy.
12. Intellectual Property
- The NeetFlash app, its design, and AI-generated content are our intellectual property
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use content from the app
Past Year Questions
- All past year NEET questions included in the app are sourced exclusively from publicly available materials officially released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after each examination cycle
- NTA publishes question papers and answer keys on its official website following every NEET exam. These released papers are freely available in the public domain and are widely used across India's education ecosystem by coaching institutes, publishers, and study platforms
- NeetFlash does not possess, use, or distribute any unreleased, leaked, or confidential examination materials. Obtaining or distributing exam papers before their official release is a criminal offence under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, and NeetFlash has no involvement in any such activity
- Past year questions are used strictly for educational purposes to help students prepare for the NEET examination
13. Consent and Your Rights
- You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time by contacting us or deleting your account through the app. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You have the right to data portability - you may request a machine-readable copy of your personal data by contacting us.
- For full details on your data rights, see our Privacy Policy.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NeetFlash, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the app, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
15. Limitation of Liability
- NeetFlash is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind
- We are not responsible for exam results, admission outcomes, or academic performance
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for premium access in the last 12 months
- We are not liable for service interruptions due to server maintenance, network issues, or force majeure
16. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in abusive behavior toward other users or our support team
- Attempt to exploit or hack the app
What termination means. Termination is a lock, not an immediate deletion. When we terminate your account, your access to the app is disabled immediately and entirely - you cannot use any feature, including the free tier. Your data is retained for 30 days from the date of termination. During that 30-day window you may request a copy of your data by contacting us. After 30 days, the account and all associated data are permanently deleted.
This is different from deleting your account yourself (Settings → Delete Account) and from a parent actively declining consent (Section 11), both of which delete your data immediately rather than after a 30-day lock.
Closure of inactive accounts. To keep accounts secure and to minimise the personal data we hold, we close any account - including student, parent, and school-administrator accounts - that has not been used for over 12 months. If your account (login and activity) has been inactive for more than 12 months, we will contact you - and your linked parent, if any - asking you to log back in to keep it, followed by a final reminder about a month later. If the account remains unused, it and all associated data are permanently deleted. Logging in at any point keeps your account and resets the inactivity period. Internal staff and administrator accounts are exempt from this automated closure. See Section 9 ("Data Retention") of the Privacy Policy for details.
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes - especially those affecting your data processing rights - we will seek your fresh consent through the app before the changes take effect. For non-material changes, continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
18. Dispute Resolution
- In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms, you agree to first attempt resolution by contacting us at the email below. We will endeavour to resolve disputes informally within 30 days.
- If informal resolution fails, disputes will be referred to mediation administered by an independent mediator mutually agreed upon by both parties, conducted in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
- If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
20. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the details of our Grievance Officer are:
Name: Suresh Damodaran
Email: grievance@neetflash.com
Response time: We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receipt.
